The Material - Ebonite

Delicate lines meet a strong contrast. Deep black meets strong red. The natural material ebonite does not like to be pigeonholed. It looks like marble, but it is not. In terms of colour, the hard rubber mixture, which is produced on the basis of natural rubber and sulphur, is reminiscent of ebony. The term "ebonite" is derived from the English term "ebony".

The supple material has hardly been used when it is already at operating temperature. So far, it has been appreciated above all by music lovers, for example as mouthpieces for saxophones and clarinets or as piano keys. Tobacco pipes and writing utensils also like to adorn themselves with the elegant material and now also shaving utensils from MÜHLE, such as the PURIST series.

The gently rounded silhouette harmoniously picks up the curve of the grain, while the chrome-plated base and the wider collar provide a fitting counterpoint.

The razor head - Classic razor blade

For generations, the safety razor has been regarded as a stylish classic which can even shave edges with precision. For many, it is the razor par excellence. Its styling is ideally suited to the design of the MÜHLE products.Even if the open blade does demand a little respect at first: After a brief familiarisation period, and guided by a steady hand, it produces a very close shave and a lasting result. Unlike modern blade systems, the head of the safety razor does not move. The blades are replaced by unscrewing the cap. Blades can be purchased from us and by retailers everywhere.

HOW TO USE

Even if the open blade does demand a little respect at first: After a brief familiarisation period, and guided by a steady hand, it produces a very close shave and a lasting result. Unlike modern blade systems, the head of the safety razor does not move. The blades are replaced by unscrewing the cap.

The shaving result is dependent on the factors beard growth, the density and length of the beard hair, and how these interact with the blade and safety razor. Some will achieve optimal results with a very sharp blade, while others can profit more from gentler blades.

When shaving, the safety razor should at first be drawn across the skin without applying any pressure at all. Shaving with the grain is often sufficient and renders a second shave in the opposite direction unnecessary. The skin should be stretched taut at all times.
